From its earliest entrepreneurial roots, Lewis Real Estate’s combination of local market experience and deep community involvement have been significant in the development of Western North Carolina’s most influential industrial, retail, and commercial real estate properties.
Founder Bob Lewis established his company in 1985, starting with a single residential property and gradually building a thriving business. Today the company manages a portfolio of office buildings, retail centers and industrial parks and offers acquisition and brokerage services.
Together with son Martin, Lewis Real Estate began work in the early 1990’s with varied groups of investors, purchasing and developing key commercial properties.
Lewis Real Estate became actively involved in community initiatives targeting the region’s long-range development, brokering many partnerships to procure and develop key commerce areas. It was these far-sighted enterprises that established Asheville’s strong economic foundation in the form of industrial parks, such as the Vista Industrial Center, that became critical to bringing major employers, jobs, and businesses to the area.
The key to its success? “We didn’t take the ‘big growth’ route of other firms,” says its founder. “Instead, we’ve maintained a small but highly-experienced team that remains personally involved in each project. Our primary goal is to make sure each venture is successful, and to continue building on the relationships and respect earned from our clients and partners.”
