Just off Old Asheville Highway in the growing community south of Asheville, Brickton Industrial Park is located in Fletcher off U.S. Highway 25. Its easy access to Interstate 26 makes this 144-acre property an ideal industrial location. Customized build-out is available, with 13.6 acres graded and utility-ready at this time.
This development was the first for Fletcher Partners, with Lewis Real Estate and three additional partners. We took a 144 acre former Boren Brick site (thus the name Brickton) and divided it for residential and industrial use. We met with landscape architects, graphic designers, and engineers to make the project work and “shine” on paper.
Brickton was not to compete with our other developments but to go after alternative tenants that required less strict covenants. Based on our market knowledge and perceived demand, we sold to a compatible group of industrial companies. The large tract (30 acres) proved to be a better fit for an affordable housing developer providing a much-needed solution to the problem of workforce housing in the area.
Lewis Real Estate has the ability to remain flexible and respond quickly to market demands. Today this project is sold out with the exception of one 13-acre and one 71-acre industrial site.
The land development process is one of enhancing value and creating new value in real property. Our recent history in this field reflects a record of success after success. The elements are these: careful planning, proper positioning of assets, strategic site selection and most critically, assembling the right players for the team. Our group has maintained a leadership role in the market, participating in some of the largest and most successful commercial ventures in this part of the state.
